The Australian Writer’s Marketplace

Publishers, agents, competitions, organisations, magazines – every contact you will ever need to succeed in the writing business. The brand new edition lists more than 2,200 opportunities and contacts in the Australian writing industry. It also has a new index which summarises markets for a range of genres, making it easier than ever before to find the market that is right for you.

“Why was there nothing like this around during that decade when I slogged away at the writing, but didn’t know who to call?

If I was starting out now, it’s the first thing I’d buy.” Nick Earls, best-selling author of Zig Zag Street, 48 Shades and Monica Bloom.

For the DIY taking the DIY approach to getting published, The Australian Writer’s Marketplace lists all the contacts writers need – printers, distributors, illustrators, editors and even marketing professionals – to get their book from first draft to finished product. Tara Moss, Australia’s #1 crime writer (Fetish, Covet) and Tara Moss Investigates presenter says: “There is a writer’s marketplace in Australia waiting for your talents. Whether a journalist, novelist or poet, The Australian Writer’s Marketplace will show you where to find your next publisher.”

Brisbane Writers Festival

The Brisbane Writers Festival has held the place of Queensland’s premier literary event for twelve years. It brings the world of writing and ideas to Brisbane, and showcases the best of local, national and international writing to Brisbane, and to the world.

For five days in September each year the festival takes over the spectacularly re-developed State Library of Queensland (next to the iconic Gallery of Modern Art and Queensland Art Gallery) in the South Bank cultural precinct alongside the Brisbane River.
